I launched my first website (Taylor-mademama.com) while I was on maternity leave back in 2016. I bootstrapped my way through learning all things website, email marketing, Pinterest, etc. during naptimes. I didn't exactly understand the possibilities but it was super fun to learn ALL the things and start to see a few dollars trickle in from affiliate sales (mostly from Amazon at that time!). My first Amazon monthly commission payout was legit $0.13.
It's crazy to see income to this day STILL coming in from content I created 7 years ago, when I really didn't know quite what I was doing!
All those daily efforts you make to build your personal brand WILL pay off - even if your next step doesn't end up being your forever!
I hit six-figures in sales through my personal brand!
Here's what the four years of my online business journey to that milestone looked like. I:
- Quit my job as a Special Education Program Coordinator to stay home with my daughter,
- Built my first website to generate passive income through affiliate and social selling product sales,
- Dipped my toe into network marketing, reached the top 2% of two companies and gave it up to start my current business (which I now do full-time),
- Launched my coaching and digital course creation business to an audience of 260 and had a $15,000 first launch - my first 5-figure month!
- Had my first six-figure year in 2020 through multiple revenue streams
